3D Sharks And Naiad!

Naiad was used to simulate the 3D water in the recent film Shark Night 3D

VFX Supervisor Gregor Lakner discusses the how he and his team tackled the challenging fluids shots in this new Computer Graphics World article.  There is also this new article in Post Magazine detailing some of the Naiad fluids work in the film.

ILM And Naiad in CGW

Stockholm, Sweden (July 29, 2011).  Computer Graphics World has a new article mentioning that ILM used Naiad for fluid simulation shots in the new Pirates of the Caribbean 4 blockbuster - read more about it here.

 

Naiad in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Framestore Uses Naiad on the new Narnia Film: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Until recently, Naiad's role as the fluid solution for the massive water sequences in the 3D blockbuster Avatar has been something of an industry secret, until this article appeared in the online magazine Entertainment Engineering!

August 2009

Exotic Matter was interviewed by Mike Seymour of fxguide.com at SIGGRAPH 2009 in New Orleans, which was the first ever public appearance of Exotic Matter as a company, showcasing Naiad for the first time. (Please follow the link above, and look for Episode #062).

In this video, the founders of the company give a brief overview of the Naiad Software and its capabilities.  There is also a glimpse of some of the early simulation results in the form of a 3D animation produced by the Important Looking Pirates (a Stockholm-based VFX facility).
