NUGGET JAPAN 2011

Naiad Boot Camp At SIGGRAPH 2011

When: 4PM - 5PM, Monday, Aug. 8th, 2011
Where: Harbour Centre Campus (SFU), 515 West Hastings St., Vancouver. Terasen Cinema, ground floor on the left as you enter from the corner with Richards St.
The first event we are hosting is Naiad Boot Camp, which is essentially an introduction to the high-end Naiad fluid simulation software for those who have never used it, only started using it, or are interested in learning more about it.  The event is primarily aimed toward 3D artists/supervisors but R+D and "technical people" are more than welcome to attend as well.

NUGGET (Naiad User Group and Get Together) At SIGGRAPH 2011

When: 5PM - 6PM, Monday, Aug. 8th, 2011
Where: Harbour Centre Campus (SFU), 515 West Hastings St., Vancouver. Terasen Cinema, ground floor on the left.
NUGGET is our annual user group meeting, where we will be showing the latest developments and technology of the Naiad software.  This year we are also joined by exciting guest speakers!  Highlights of this year's NUGGET include:

  • A sneak preview of Naiad 0.6. to be released soon.
  • Guest speakers Per Karefelt and Dr. Michael Blain (Framestore London) discuss how Naiad was used to achieve the hortcrux fluid effects in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 2.
  • A sneak preview of the new Naiad Ocean Toolkit (NOT).
  • A sneak preview of the latest Naiad Buddies in development.
  • A showcase of recent 3D fluid simulation work done using Naiad.

Please note that the NUGGET is followed by a reception:
When: 6PM - 7.30PM, Monday, Aug. 8th, 2011
Where:  Rogue Kitchen and Wet Bar, 601 W. Cordova St, Vancouver, BC (just around the corner from NUGGET).
Drinks and snacks, a chance to meet Exotic Matter and for us to meet you!   The Foundry's GEEKFEST 2011 is only a 13-minute walk from the NUGGET reception.
